Nyeri County Government Announces 466 Job Vacancies and Internship Opportunities

The Nyeri County Government has announced 466 job and internship opportunities in different departments within the county public service.
The vacancies target qualified Kenyans looking for jobs in sectors such as agriculture, health, finance, ICT, engineering, education, legal services, and administration.
According to an advert released by the Nyeri County Public Service Board, the openings include permanent jobs, contract positions, and internship opportunities. The county has also re-advertised several specialised positions in the health and education sectors.
The opportunities are open to graduates, diploma holders, professionals, and technical workers interested in serving in the county government.
Agriculture Department Announces Several Vacancies
The Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Aquaculture announced multiple positions for professionals in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, veterinary services, and engineering.
Some of the positions advertised include:
- Agricultural Officer – 4 posts
- Assistant Agricultural Officer III – 3 posts
- Livestock Production Officer – 3 posts
- Assistant Livestock Production Officer III – 3 posts
- Animal Health Assistant II – 5 posts
- Fisheries Officer – 4 posts
- Assistant Fisheries Officer III – 1 post
- Veterinary Officer – 2 posts
- Assistant Animal Health Officer III – 4 posts
- Agricultural Engineer II – 1 post
- Inspector (Agriculture) – 1 post

The county said the officers will help improve food production, livestock farming, irrigation projects, fisheries development, and agricultural extension services across Nyeri County.
County Secretary’s Office Hiring Enforcement and Planning Officers
The Office of the County Secretary also advertised several positions, including:
- Performance Analyst/Economist II/Statistician II – 2 posts
- Assistant Inspectorate Officer II – 34 posts
The inspectorate officers will assist in enforcing county laws, maintaining public order, and supporting county operations.
Legal and Finance Departments Also Hiring
The Office of the County Attorney announced vacancies for:
- County Solicitor – 1 post
- Legal Officer – 2 posts
Meanwhile, the Department of Finance, Economic Planning, and ICT advertised positions including:
- Accountant I – 5 posts
- Accountant II – 3 posts
- Senior Internal Auditor – 1 post
- Internal Auditor I – 2 posts
- Internal Auditor II – 1 post
- ICT Officer (Software Development) – 2 posts
The county government said the officers will help strengthen financial management, auditing, digital services, and legal compliance.
Water and Environment Department Announces Engineering Positions
The Department of Water, Environment and Climate Change also announced vacancies in water and irrigation services.
The positions include:
- Chief Superintendent Engineer (Irrigation) – 1 post
- Assistant Engineer II (Water and Sewerage) – 1 post
- Inspector Water and Sewerage – 3 posts
The officers will oversee water projects, sewerage systems, and irrigation programmes within the county.
Nyeri County Announces 370 Internship Opportunities
Apart from the advertised jobs, Nyeri County also announced 370 internship opportunities under the County Public Service and Solid Waste Management Department.

The county government also re-advertised several specialised vacancies in the health and education sectors.

- Senior Assistant Director of Medical Services/Radiologist – 1 post
- Senior Assistant Director of Medical Services/Orthopaedic Surgeon – 1 post
- Registered Nurse III (Peri-Operative) – 2 posts
- Youth Polytechnic Instructor III (Plumbing Technology) – 1 post
- Director Valuation and Housing – 1 post
Terms of Employment and Application Details
Nyeri County Government said the positions will be offered on a three-year contract basis.
Successful candidates will receive salaries and benefits based on Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) guidelines and the county internship policy where applicable.
