NYS Announces 750 Job Opportunities for Cadets and Privates in Major Recruitment Drive

The National Youth Service (NYS) has officially launched a major recruitment exercise to fill 750 positions across various departments.
The government agency is seeking to hire 250 cadet officers and 500 privates (former NYS servicemen and women) on permanent and pensionable terms.
The announcement was made through a public advertisement published in MyGov on Tuesday, March 3.

Qualifications and Requirements
To qualify for the positions, applicants must:

Be a Kenyan citizen with a valid ID and KRA PIN

Be aged between 18 and 28 years
-
Have no criminal record
-
Be medically fit
For cadet roles:

A Bachelor’s degree is required
-
Minimum KCSE grade of C+ (Plus)
For privates:
-
Minimum KCSE grade of C- (Minus)

Must possess an NYS discharge certificate if previously enrolled
All successful candidates must also meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Interested applicants are required to download and complete the PSC.2 (Revised 2016) application form from the Public Service Commission website and submit it via email or post as directed in the advertisement.
Volunteer Recruitment Exercise Announced
In addition to the permanent vacancies, NYS has also announced a nationwide recruitment exercise for volunteer servicemen and servicewomen.
The exercise will run from March 16 to March 21, and applicants must have a minimum KCSE grade of D.
