Safaricom Announces New Job Vacancies for Kenyans in Several Departments

Kenya’s leading telecommunications company, Safaricom, has announced several job opportunities for qualified and experienced Kenyan professionals across different fields, including technology, legal services, human resources, and government relations.

The company invited interested candidates to apply for the available positions through its official recruitment portal before the set deadlines.

Safaricom, which employs more than 6,000 people across the country, said applicants should ensure they update their profiles and upload the necessary documents, including their CVs, when submitting applications.

1. IT Solutions Architect

The successful candidate will work closely with both technical teams and business users to develop automated systems that support business operations.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
At least four years of experience in software development, cloud architecture, or solution architecture
Strong development skills in programming languages such as Java, Python, NodeJS, Go, or .NET
Certification in TOGAF or public cloud platforms will be an added advantage

2. Manager, Government Relations

This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with government officials and other key stakeholders at both national and local levels.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Law, Business Administration, or a related course
Minimum of four years of experience in stakeholder or relationship management

3. Legal Counsel – Technology and Corporate Centres

The selected candidate will provide legal support to the company, particularly in drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts related to technology and corporate operations.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree
Between three and five years of experience in legal practice

4. M-Pesa Africa Manager – HR Reporting, Insights and Decision Support

This role will focus on providing HR analytics and insights that help guide decision-making within the organisation.

Requirements:

Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Finance, or Data Analytics
Five to seven years of experience in HR analytics

Safaricom Internship Programme 2026

Apart from the job openings, Safaricom has also opened applications for its 2026 internship programme.

The six-month internship targets students who are awaiting graduation as well as recent graduates who completed their studies within the last 12 months.

The company said the internship intake will take place in April and October, with opportunities available in departments such as supply chain, communications, finance, public relations, and human resources.
