Kalonzo Explains Why He Didn’t Invite Gachagua to His Presidential Campaign Dinner

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has explained why he did not invite fellow opposition leaders to his recent presidential campaign dinner and launch event.
Speaking during the unveiling of his presidential agenda, Kalonzo said the decision was intentional and should not be viewed as a sign of divisions within the opposition.
According to Kalonzo, he wanted to first present his personal vision and plans for the country before bringing together other leaders in the opposition coalition.
Among those who were not invited were Rigathi Gachagua, Fred Matiang’i, and Martha Karua.
Kalonzo said he considered inviting them but later decided to focus on launching his flagship agenda independently. He added that his colleagues were aware of the event and were following the proceedings.
The former vice president also reassured supporters that the opposition remains united despite speculation about possible disagreements among its leaders.
He praised his allies for standing with Kenyans and maintained that the coalition remains committed to working together ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Kalonzo further dismissed claims of cracks within the opposition alliance, saying such reports are meant to weaken their growing support across the country.
He argued that a united opposition stands a strong chance of challenging President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza administration in the next election.
As political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of 2027, Kalonzo and other opposition leaders are expected to continue building their individual political profiles while maintaining cooperation within the broader opposition movement.
