Jalang'o Throws Cash to Crowd Before Leaving Chaotic Kayole Rally

Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor (Jalang’o) was forced to throw money into a crowd after a political gathering in Kayole became difficult to control.

A video circulating on social media shows hundreds of people surrounding the MP during what appeared to be a campaign stop as he seeks the Nairobi Senate seat.

Jalang’o, who was dressed in a black sweatshirt, asked supporters to form a queue so he could give them money in an orderly manner. However, the crowd kept pushing towards him, making it impossible to maintain order.

Supporters continued chanting slogans as they surrounded the MP. At one point, he appealed for calm, telling the crowd there was enough money for everyone.

Despite his request, the pushing continued.

Realising the situation was getting out of control, Jalang’o threw the cash into the crowd, leading to a scramble as people rushed to pick it up.

The video does not clearly show him leaving the scene, but after the rush ended, some people could be heard asking whether he had already left.

Later, police officers were seen moving in to disperse the crowd, while a loud bang was heard in the background, causing some people to run for safety.
