Paul Muite Says Rigging in 2027 Election Will Be Nearly Impossible
Veteran lawyer and politician Paul Muite has said the 2027 General Election will deliver results so decisive that attempts to rig the vote will fail.
In a New Year message shared on January 1, 2026, Muite said growing public anger across the country will lead to a massive vote against the current political leadership, making the manipulation of results impossible.

According to Muite, even though the electoral system may be weak, the margin of defeat in the next election will be too wide to interfere with.
“The good news this January 1, 2026, is that the loss margin in the next election will be so big that rigging will not work, even with a compromised IEBC,” Muite said.
The former Safina Party leader said Kenya’s political landscape has shifted sharply, with voters from all regions showing dissatisfaction with the current state of the country.
Muite noted that discontent is no longer limited to a few regions but has spread nationwide, including Western Kenya, Rift Valley, Eastern, Central Kenya, Kisii and Nyanza.
“If you look across the country, the grassroots support is gone,” he added, suggesting that voters are ready for major political change.
Matiang’i urges youth to prepare early
Muite’s comments came shortly after former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i also addressed Kenyans in a New Year message, urging citizens—especially the youth—to take part in shaping the country’s future.
Matiang’i encouraged young people to register as voters early and prepare for the 2027 elections.

While wishing Kenyans a prosperous 2026, Matiang’i reflected on the challenges faced in 2025, including the high cost of living, insecurity, poor healthcare services, and school dropouts caused by delayed government funding.
He warned that unless serious action is taken in 2026, Kenya risks sinking deeper into poverty.
“Corruption and unfair distribution of public resources continue to hurt the country in ways that cannot be ignored,” Matiang’i said.
