Ruku Urges Mt Kenya East Leaders to Unite Behind DP Kindiki

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has called on leaders from the Mt Kenya East region to work closely with Deputy President Kithure Kindiki instead of joining the opposition.

Speaking during a public meeting in Kiritiri, Mbeere South Constituency, Ruku urged Democratic Party leader Justin Muturi, PNU leader Peter Munya and DEP-Mbus leader Lenny Kivuti to unite with the government for the benefit of the region.

According to the CS, leaders from Mt Kenya East should work together to push for development projects instead of engaging in political divisions.

Ruku Criticises Gachagua

Ruku also criticised former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, claiming he has a history of disagreeing with fellow leaders.

He said Gachagua previously had public disagreements with former President Uhuru Kenyatta and warned that politicians who join him could end up being politically sidelined.

Residents Asked to Support Government Projects

The Cabinet Secretary asked residents of Mbeere South to continue supporting the Kenya Kwanza administration, saying its performance should be judged by the development projects being implemented.

He pointed to several ongoing projects in the area, including:

  • Kiambere–New Site Road
  • Machanga–PI Road
  • Kamburu Bulk Water Project

Ruku said the projects will improve road transport and increase access to clean water for local residents.

He was accompanied by Chuka/Igambang’ombe MP Patrick Munene, Kitutu Chache North MP Japheth Nyakundi and Lafey MP Mohammed Abdi.
